Podiatrist Update on Ingrown Toenail Removal

Ingrown Toenail

Still having ingrown toenail pain? While sometimes ingrown toenails are painful and might not cause debilitating pain, it is very important to make sure they do not turn into an infection!

Ingrown toenails cause pain due to the nail incurvating and applying pressure to the skin surrounding the nail (the nail folds). If the pressure become enough to brak the skin layers, bacteria or other organisms can get underneath and start an infection.

While our Podiatrists treat ingrown toenail infections, we would prefer to prevent them in the first place.
